Mac OS X 10.5 erst im Oktober
Mac OS X 10.5 ”Leopard” wird nicht mehr im Frühling/Sommer, sondern erst im Oktober erscheinen. Apple hat offenbar Entwickler aus dem OS X Team in das iPhone Team abgezogen um den geplanten USA-Release des Telefons im Juni halten zu können.
Auf der WWDC 2007 soll am 21. Juni allerdings eine Feature-Complete Beta-Version an die anwesenden Entwickler ausgeteilt werden um letzte Kompatibilitätsprobleme mit dem Leopard zu beseitigen und den Usern im Oktober ein brauchbares OS X 10.5.0 auszuliefern.
iPhone has already passed several of its required certification tests and is on schedule to ship in late June as planned. We can’t wait until customers get their hands (and fingers) on it and experience what a revolutionary and magical product it is. However, iPhone contains the most sophisticated software ever shipped on a mobile device, and finishing it on time has not come without a price — we had to borrow some key software engineering and QA resources from our Mac OS X team, and as a result we will not be able to release Leopard at our Worldwide Developers Conference in early June as planned. While Leopard’s features will be complete by then, we cannot deliver the quality release that we and our customers expect from us. We now plan to show our developers a near final version of Leopard at the conference, give them a beta copy to take home so they can do their final testing, and ship Leopard in October. We think it will be well worth the wait. Life often presents tradeoffs, and in this case we’re sure we’ve made the right ones.
Mir ist das eigentlich ganz recht. Mein iBook G3 und mein iMac G5 laufen mit dem Tiger eigentlich immer noch sehr nett.
Und im Herbst gibt es dann für mich ein neues MacBook mit (hoffentlich) fehlerfreiem 10.5 und der neuesten Hardware-Revision…

Ja, es wird endlich wieder Frühling und neue Jobs blühen allerorten. Zum Beispiel:
Stadtbildverschönerer/-innen:
Die Bezeichnung “Stadtbildverschönerer” trifft nicht direkt die Tätigkeit dieser Fachkräfte, da diese zwar durch das Aufsammeln von Müll, den z.B. die Herumlungerer (siehe dort) hinterlassen haben, das Stadtbild verschönern sollen, dies jedoch in der Regel durch ihr eigenes Äußeres wieder zunichte machen.
Die Tätigkeiten der Stadtbildverschönerer (ugs. auch “Ein-Euro-Jobber” genannt) belaufen sich daher zumeist auf das morgendliche In-der-Gegend-herumstehen-mit-Gartengeräten-in-der-Hand, dem Müde-aus-der-Wäsche-gucken und dem Zwischendurch-mal-einen-Boonekamp-nachlegen.
Auftraggeber sind in erster Linie neoliberale Gruppierungen (siehe “Große Koalition”), zum einzigen Zweck, der Mittelschicht Angst vor dem sozialen Abstieg zu machen. Dadurch soll diese Bevölkerungsgruppe dazu gebracht werden, sämtliche mittelbaren und unmittelbaren Lohnkürzungen unwidersprochen zu akzeptieren, da die Tätigkeit des Stadtbildverschönerers ausgesprochen unbeliebt ist.
Voraussetzungen sind hier lediglich: Gute Leberwerte.
