Schon komisch wie das Interweb manchmal funktioniert, da sehe ich meinen Tweet von heute Morgen auf aptgetupdate.de, blogge davon jetzt einen Screenshot und teste im Anschluss den dort verlinkten Twitterclient NatsuLion…

Ich habe da diese Mail von Apple bekommen, die mich nett darauf hinwies, dass meine einjährige Garantie sehr bald ausliefe, wenn ich nicht bald ein AppleCare Paket für mein MacBook käufte.

Das ist ja auch eine sehr schöne Sache: 3 Jahre Garantie ab Kaufdatum, telefonischer Support, und noch so ein paar Sachen. Gerade für mobile Rechner lohnt sich so etwas ja doch. Leider ist dieser Service recht kostspielig. Für mein MacBook kostet das Paket 319,00 €¹.

Nun bin ich aber durch den Powerbook Blogger auf die Idee gekommen, mich mal auf der anderen Seite des Atlantiks umzuschauen. Wenn man weltweit Service in Anspruch nehmen kann sollte es ja eigentlich auch egal sein wo auf der Welt man den ursprünglichen Vertrag erworben hat, oder?

Durch eine Empfehlung aus einem schweizer Forum² bin ich auf die L.A. Computercompany gekommen. Die verkaufen im schönen Kalifornien die gesamte Produktpalette von Apple und dazu auch die passenden AppleCare Pakete.

Für ein MacBook AppleCare zahlt man dort nur 180,00 $, das sind aktuell 116,31 €. Ein Angebot das man kaum ausschlagen kann…

Leider stand auf der Website nichts von International Shipping also habe ich per Mail nachgefragt ob eine Lieferung nach Deutschland möglich ist und ob denn ein US AppleCare auch in Deutschland akzeptiert würde.

Die Antwort:

Also habe ich die Kreditkarte gezückt. Ungefähr 2 Stunden später kam dann eine Mail mit meiner AppleCare Enrollment Number an. Diese habe ich dann auf der deutschen AppleCare Seite zusammen mit der Seriennummer meines MacBooks eingetippt und noch einmal 10 Minuten später lag mein deutsches AppleCare Zertifikat in meiner Inbox.

Klasse Sache. Das MacBook hat jetzt Garantie bis Juli 2010 und ich habe gegenüber einem hierzulande gekauftem Paket gute 200 € gespart.

In jeder Apple-Verpackung stecken zwei von den Stickern. Die Frage die sich sofort stellt: Wohin klebe ich das Teil jetzt bloss?

Bei mir ist ein Sticker auf dem Corsa gelandet, ein anderer¹ verziert meinen Casio fx-85MS Taschenrechner. So einige habe ich auch schon verschenkt und wenn ich mal einer anderen Farbe als Weiss habhaft werden kann, wird die Tür zum Arbeitszimmer verschönert.

Ich werfe das Teil mal weiter zu Rüdiger und Mathias, alle anderen können es sich natürlich auch nehmen…
