Fetch.PhpIch hatte vor einiger Zeit schon mal auf Svens Thinkpad ein aus dem oberen Bildschirmrand ausfahrbares Terminal gesehen und habe sehr bedauert das so etwas unter Mac OS X nicht möglich ist. Kurz hatte ich auch erwägt mal wieder ein Ubuntu auf meinem iBook zu installieren. Vor allem weil es da auch gerade wieder so eine interessante Essential Software Liste für Ubuntu gibt…

Mit Visor (von den quicksilver-Machern) hat man genau das. Auf einen konfigurierbaren Tastendruck (Standard ist ctrl+F1) fährt ein Terminal aus dem oberen Bildschirmrand aus und ist bereit für jede CLI-Schandtat. Jetzt hätte ich nur noch gerne das dieses nette Tool auch mit iTerm spielt…

Civilization IV on Mac OS X

Also wenn ich mir dieses Review so durchlese, dann kriege ich schon so ein bisschen Lust auf dieses Spiel…

The newest update to the series, Civilization IV, takes the already long and complex game to a whole new level. Like previous iterations of the strategic turn-based game, it introduces new nations—such as the Arabians—new technology— such as paper—and new wonders of the world— try Hollywood on for size. It also introduces new concepts (like religion) to the game, making it a better and better simulation of the real world.

Besonders gelungen finde ich, dass man unabhängig von der Plattform gegeneinander spielen kann. Und zwar per LAN, Internet und, Achtung, Play-By-Email.

Wie sieht das aus Christopher? Mal was anderes als das ewige Schach-by-Todesanzeige zocken? ; )

Die einen haben die Fahne am Auto, ich hänge sie mir ins Blog. Wer das auch tun will lade sich eine der hübschen Fahnen von wm2006.popforge.de herunter und füge folgenden Code auf seiner Seite ein:
