Das Optimus Mini Three ist ein kleines Extra-Keyboard mit 3 Tasten, die jeweils aus einem kleinen OLED Monitor bestehen. So kann man also verschiedene Funktionen der Tasten darstellen oder auch Statusanzeigen wie das aktuelle Wetter oder die CPU Belastung anzeigen lassen.

Mittels des Optimus Configurators (der bisher nur unter Windows läuft), kann man die Funktionen und Anzeigen einfach konfigurieren, so dass z.B. je nach geöffnetem Programm ein anderes Set von Bildern angezeigt wird. Eigene (jpg, gif, png, bmp) und bereits mitgelieferte Bilder können sowohl horizontal als auch vertikal angezeigt werden.

LinuxTage Essen 2006 in der Debian-Times

The impression of the Come2Linux (http://www.debian.org/events/2006/0909-come2linux) exhibition and conference is pretty positive. Even though there was some trouble with getting the booth and talks accepted and it wasn’t as obvious as thought finding the proper university building in Essen, the event itself went pretty well.

The exhibition areas were quite familial and all projects had similar booths consisting of only tables, chairs and a wall in the back. For such an event that was totally sufficient. In addition to that one woman backed tasty waffles, the organisers sold some coffee and rolls, and in the outside there was a trailer with a mobile kitchen providing hot lunch.

Both of Debian talks were well received. Of course, the introductory talk had a few more people listening than the more detailed talk about Debian packages and stuff. However, 40-50 people are ok for this kind of event.

Civilization 4 Demo

Aspyr hat heute eine spielbare Demo-Version von Civilization 4, dem bekannten rundenbasierten Strategiespiel, herausgebracht. Vorausgesetzt wird Mac OS X 10.3.9, ein G5- oder Intel-basiertes System mit 1,8 Ghz oder mehr, 512 MB Ram, eine Radeon 9600, Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 oder bessere Grafikkarte mit mindestens 32 MB VRam.

Ein PowerBook G4 ist gegangen

This is my powerbook G4 which after more than 5 years of hard love has stopped working.

I don’t usually get real emotional feelings for my tools or material objects. but after using this computer every day for the last five years i am sad to see it go.

I truely understand.

My iBook G3 from 2001 is still humming away nicely with it´s second Battery. The Screen-Brightness is a Joke compared to todays MacBooks (or even todays iPods) but it works, is a tough companion and it doesn´t burn my knees when I use it on the couch…

I would miss it.

Keep goin´ iBook! Rest in peace PowerBook G4.

Wraps mit Caesars Salad

Zutaten für 4 Personen:

300 g Hähnchenfilet, 2 EL Öl, Salz, Pfeffer, 1/2 Bund Schnittlauch, 2 Knoblauchzehen, 150 g Mayonnaise, 150 g Vollmilch-Joghurt, abgeriebene Schale von 1/2 unbehandelten Zitrone, 2 Scheiben Toastbrot, 1 EL Butter, 1 EL getrocknete Salatkräuter, 1 Römersalat, 2 EL gehobelten Parmesan, 1 Packung (ca. 280 g) Wrap-Tortillas, Pergamentpapier, Küchengarn.

Wraps!

Hähnchenfilet im heißen Öl ca. 10 Minuten unter Wenden braten. Mit Salz und Pfeffer würzen, herausnehmen und in dünne Scheiben schneiden. Schnittlauch fein schneiden. Knoblauch zerdrücken. Mayonnaise, Joghurt, Knoblauch, Schnittlauch und Zitronenschale verrühren und abschmecken. Toastbrot würfeln und in heißer Butter knusprig rösten. Salatkräuter untermischen. Croutons aus der Pfanne nehmen und beiseite stellen.

Den Salat klein schneiden. Hähnchen, Salat, Croutons und Parmesan mit der Hälfte des Dressings mischen. Wraps jeweils mit etwas Dressing bestreichen und Salatmischung darauf geben. Seiten einschlagen und aufrollen. Wraps in Pergamentpapier wickeln, schräg durchschneiden und mit Küchengarn zusammenbinden. Dazu das restliche Dressing reichen.
