Es gibt zum Beispiel Voyage Linux, eine auf Debian basierende, speziell als embedded Linux entwickelte Distribution.

Die Standard 64MB Installation enthält schon:

• Linux 2.6 kernel - always latest.
• Full WRAP board support - watchdog, gpio, temperature reading and reboot patch.
• MPPE patch to support PPP encryption with MSCHAP v2 for PPTP
• built in hostap, prism54 and madwifi(-ng) drivers, optional ipw2100/2200, rt2400/2500 and ndiswrapper drivers
• WPA support via hostapd and wpa_supplicant
• WDS support via hostap and madwifi-ng drivers
• hostap txpower and non-volatile firmware download support
• Captive Portal: built-in nocatsplash support, optional nocatauth package available

Ich habe seit fast zwei Jahren ein WRAP mit m0n0wall als Internet-Router und Firewall laufen, das Teil war nicht sehr teuer, zieht kaum Saft und läuft absolut zuverlässig. Und so viel schwieriger als Debian auf die NSLU2 zu bringen liest sich das auch nicht…
