Ich bin ja eigentlich wo ich gehe und stehe online. Im Büro und zu Haus gibt es WLAN und Kabelverbindungen, unterwegs ist mein iPhone meine Verbindung zur Online Welt. Das klappt für Mail und Twitter auch super, aber manchmal braucht man schon einen richtigen Computer um gewisse Dinge zu erledigen. Sei es für einen richtigen Browser oder um etwas schneller auf einer richtigen Tastatur zu tippen.
Für diese Gelegenheiten wäre mein MacBook in Kombination mit einem UMTS-Stick ideal. Bei den meisten Anbietern muss man sich allerdings vertraglich für 24 Monate binden und ausserdem eine monatliche Grundgebühr berappen. Für einen Gelegenheitssurfer wie mich wäre das rausgeschmissenes Geld.
Fonic dagegen bietet seine Surf-Stick für mittlerweile nur noch 79,95 Euro statt bisher 99,95 Euro. Diese 20% Nachlass entstehen durch verbilligte Einkaufsbedingungen die Fonic mit dem Anbieter Telefónica ausgehandelt hat und nun an die Endkunden weitergibt.
Eine monatliche Grundgebühr oder einen Mindestumsatz gibt es nicht. Man zahlt einfach pro Tag1 den man surfen möchte 2,50 € und kann los legen. Die Installation der nötigen Treiber und Software erfolgen sowohl unter Windows, als auch unter Mac OS X direkt vom Datenteil des Surf-Sticks. So können auch Computer ohne optisches Laufwerk wie Netbooks oder das MacBook Air sofort loslegen. Unter Mac OS X ist die Software noch nicht einmal nötig, die Verbindung kann auch über die Menüleiste hergestellt werden. Eine entsprechende Anleitung findet sich bei logicuser.de.
