Ich kann irgendwie nicht schlafen. Und da dachte ich mir so¹ ich weise euch noch mal darauf hin dass der Amazon MP3 Store wohl im laufenden Jahr 2008 nach good ol´Germany kommt um iTunes, musicload und Co ordentlich den DRM-verseuchten Hintern zu versohlen…

Ausserdem war Lawrence Lessig² auf der diesjährigen Midem, und das zeigt ja schon dass die Musikindustrie irgendwie doch gewillt ist dazu zu lernen.

Creative Commons sei keineswegs, wie oft von Teilen der Industrie gescholten, ein Feind des Urheberrechts, betonte ihr Gründer Lessig. Die alternativen Lizenzen verschafften vielmehr einem ausbalancierten Urheberrecht Respekt, für das sich Kreative selbst entscheiden könnten. Die übertriebenen Forderungen und vor allem die “Urheberrechtskriege”, mit denen die Unterhaltungsindustrie die Nutzer, vor allem Jugendliche überzogen habe, hätten in den vergangenen Jahren zu einer Radikalisierung geführt. “Dieser Krieg ist nicht zu gewinnen”, sagte Lessig, “glauben Sie mir, ich bin Amerikaner, ich kenne mich aus damit.”

In somehow related news, wenn ihr von dem ewigen Einheitsbrei der üblichen Radiosender genug habt und lieber mal frische Musik durch eure Ohren sausen lasst, tut euch einen großen Gefallen und hört mal bei byte.fm rein. Der Initiator des Ganzen, Ruben Jonas Schnell, erklärt das Konzept in einem Zeit-Interview so:

Wir haben keine Rotation. Alle Sendungen werden nach musikalischen Gesichtspunkten gestaltet. Unser Programm beginnt täglich um 16 Uhr. Dann gibt es eine Stunde mit dem Tourkalender, da weisen wir auf deutschlandweite Konzerte hin und laden Bands ins Studio ein. Danach kommt Mixtape, eine Sendung, gemacht von Journalisten, Kneipen, Plattenläden oder Clubs. Danach beginnen die Autorensendungen, die am folgenden Tag bis 16 Uhr wiederholt werden.

Immer wieder neue Musik, Interviews mit den Künstlern, Moderatoren die Ahnung haben, über Musik reden und ansonsten großflächig die Fresse halten. Herrlich. Habe ich schon erwähnt dass dieser wundervolle Sender werbefrei ist?

Ich höre das jetzt so seit ca. zwei Wochen immer und immer öfter, es macht wirklich Spaß zuzuhören und ist schlicht und einfach kein Vergleich mit dem üblichen Radio-Einheitsbrei der sonst aus den Boxen quillt und einem zwischen den Werbeblöcken, C-Promi News aus was weiss ich für einer Retortenshow und unsinnigen Gewinnspielabzocken die Hörgänge mit durchprogrammiertem Heavy-Rotation-Quatsch zumüllt.
