Da hatte ich doch letztens dieses iPhone 3GS auf dem Tisch liegen, das ums verrecken nicht mehr aus dem Recovery Modus heraus kommen wollte. Über dieses Internet fand ich dann hier den entscheidenden Tip:

Man lade sich dieses Päckchen hier herunter. Darin befindet sich das Kommandozeilenprogramm irecovery und die, nur für Windows benötigte, Libusb-Win32-Bibliothek.

Man starte die iRecovery Shell per irecovery -s über die lokale Kommandozeile und setze dort die folgenden Kommandos hintereinander ab:

setenv auto-boot true saveenv /exit

Im Anschluss noch das iPhone durch das gleichzeitige, 10-sekündige Betätigen des Home- und des Power-Buttons neu starten.

Nun sollte das iPhone sich wieder mit dem üblichen Homescreen melden. Alles wird gut.
