<p>Mein <a href="http://instant-thinking.de/2006/04/18/debian-auf-der-nslu2-revisited/" class="liinternal">Debian auf der NSLU2 Post</a> ist nach wie vor einer der popul&#228;rsten in meinem kleinen, bescheidenen Blog. Meine eigene liegt zwar derzeit mangels Einsatzzweck (Hey, ich hab nen Cube&#8230;) und aktueller <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-arm/2007/08/msg00073.html" class="liexternal">Inkompatibilit&#228;t mit dem Debian 4.0r1 Installer</a> in der Schublade, aber ich werde die mit Sicherheit noch mal einsetzen wenn mir eine tolle Verwendung einf&#228;llt und ich Zeit habe.</p>

<p>Und das trotz dem designierten Nachfolger namens <a href="http://www-de.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&#038;childpagename=DE%2FLayout&#038;cid=1175237469542&#038;pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&#038;lid=6954218843B01" class="liexternal">Linksys NAS200</a>.</p>

<p>Die Features lesen sich zwar ganz nett, (2 x USB 2.0 extern, 2 x SATA intern, Linux basiert) aber die Performance scheint im Vergleich zur NSLU2 sogar <em>noch schlechter</em> zu sein&#8230;</p>

<p>Laut dem <a href="http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS8932620558.html" class="liexternal">NAS200 Review bei linuxdevices.com</a> macht der Prozessor 44 <a href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/BogoMips" rel="nofollow" class="liwikipedia">BogoMIPS</a>, und das ist ja wohl schlicht ein Witz, da kann so ein RAID-Sync (gemessen von <a href="http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/30127/75/" class="liexternal">smallnetbuilder.com</a>) schon mal gerne 8 Stunden dauern.</p>

<p>Eine Standard NSLU2 bringt ja schon 133 (und nach dem <a href="http://instant-thinking.de/2006/08/25/overclocking-the-nslu2/" class="liinternal">&#220;bertakten</a> liegt meine gar bei 266.24&#8230;) und ist damit immer noch nicht in der Lage einen 100 MBit Netzwerkanschluss zu s&#228;ttigen. Unter dem Gesichtspunkt wird einem auch klar, warum Linksys/Cisco den Gigabit-Adapter eingespart hat.</p>

<p>Auch die <a href="http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/NAS200/HomePage" class="liexternal">NAS200-Seite im nslu2-linux Wiki</a> ist noch sehr d&#252;rftig und niemand weiss wie lange es dauern wird bis ein<em> Custom-Linux</em> auf dem Teil zum laufen zu bewegen ist&#8230; Dazu kommt dann auch noch, dass die NAS200 einen L&#252;fter mitbringt den die NSLU2 und der Cube (<a href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konvektion" rel="nofollow" class="liwikipedia">Konvektion</a>sschacht anyone?) bei besserer Performance schlicht nicht n&#246;tig haben.</p>

<p>Das einzige was die NAS200 in meinen Augen ansatzweise interessant macht, ist der niedrige Preis (<a href="http://www.heise.de/preisvergleich/a276820.html" class="liexternal">ca. 120 €</a>) und der Ausblick auf eine verbesserte Revision 2.0.</p>

<p>Vielleicht klappts dann auch mit der NSLU2 Nachfolge&#8230;</p>
