Ich hatte noch gar nicht erwähnt, dass die K10D bereits seit vielen Monden über weiteres Zubehör verfügt. Ein Makroobjektiv smc DA 35 mm / 2,8 Macro Limited und das Blitzgerät AF-540FGZ erweitern das Technik-Repertoire.

Das Makro gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut und erzeugt wirklich butterweiches Bokeh. Auch für Aufnahmen ausserhalb des Makrobereichs eignet es sich fabelhaft und ist deutlich schärfer als mein Kit-Objektiv. Einige Bilder von den Balkon-Blümchen sind in diesem Flickr-Set zu finden.

Der Blitz ist dank TTL sehr einfach zu benutzen und leuchtet mir bisher auch wirklich gut und zuverlässig meine Bilder aus. Auch Situationen wie z. B. Tanzflächen auf Partys, die es erfordern die Lichtstimmung im Hintergrund zu erhalten und das Hauptmotiv scharf einzufrieren sind mit dem Blitz gut machbar.

Dazu benötigt man ein Zoom-Objektiv und stellt die Kamera in den manuellen Modus. Man sorgt mit einer relativ langen Belichtungszeit¹ und einer ca. 2m abdeckenden Schärfentiefe² für die passenden Einstellungen. Der Blitz kann über das TTL angesteuert werden.

Dann wirds etwas frickelig. Man sucht sich sein Motiv, drückt ab und zoomt dann möglichst gleichmäßig. Ob weg oder hin ist eigentlich egal, beides kann sehr interessante Effekte ergeben.

Wenn man das ein bisschen geübt hat klappt das immer besser, und der anfängliche Überschuss an missratenen Bildern geht zurück.

Das ist sie also. Meine erste digitale Spiegelreflex. Es ist letztlich dann doch eine Pentax K10D geworden und keine Canon EOS 400D.

Mittlerweile wurden aber sowohl die K10D von Pentax als auch die 400D von Canon durch Nachfolger ersetzt. Pentax hat die K20D auf den Markt gebracht, Canon die 450D.

Die Entscheidung war überhaupt nicht einfach. Ich habe beide Kameras im Vorfeld in der Hand gehabt und hatte auch schon vorher einige Bilder mit der Canon EOS 350D meiner Schwester geschossen. Canon ist schon toll. Bedienung, Qualität der Verarbeitung alles Top. Aber an die Pentax war preisgünstig dran zu kommen und sie spielt laut einigen Testberichten¹ sogar eher in der Liga der zweistelligen Canon-Kameras…

Das Handling der Pentax ist zunächst auch wirklich sehr anders als bei den Canons. Allein dass die beiden Einstellräder vorne und hinten sind lässt die Canon gewöhnten Finger anfangs gerne ins leere greifen. Wenn man aber einmal drin ist findet die Bedienung schon fast nebenbei statt und man kann sich auf das Motiv und die Bildkomposition konzentrieren. Also, ich kann das noch nicht so richtig, aber ich kann eindeutig sagen dass ich am fotografieren mit der Pentax mehr Freude habe als vorher. Und das war auch schon nicht wenig Spaß.

Die gute, alte PowerShot A610 habe ich immer noch dabei und sie wird auch in Zukunft meine PartyCam bleiben. In solchen Situationen ist eine große DSLR einfach fehl am Platz…

Zubehör Galore

Zu dem eigentlichen Body gab es noch zwei Objektive. Ein Every Day Objektiv, das Pentax smc DA 18-55mm / F 3,5-5,6 und das 200er Teleobjektiv Pentax smc DA 50-200mm / F 4-5,6.

Weiteres Zubehör sind ein Polfilter und ein UV-Filter. Da die beiden Objektive glücklicherweise beide einen Durchmesser von 52mm haben kann ich die gut hin und her tauschen. Für den ruhigen Stand bei längeren Verschlusszeiten ² habe ich mir dann noch ein Manfrotto 718B Stativ gekauft. Das hat zwar keine wechselbaren Köpfe, dafür aber einen hübschen Tragebeutel und es hat auch keine 200€ gekostet. Abgesehen vom Stativ wird der ganze Kram in einem Crumpler Pretty Boy XL verstaut.

Damit ist mein Foto-Budget auf längere Zeit erst einmal aufgebraucht, meine Ausrüstung aber auch schon ziemlich komplett. Vielleicht noch mal ein Makro-Objektiv, ein Weitwinkel oder ein schickes Fisheye und einen richtigen Blitz… Mal sehen.
