Na da habe ich gerade aber blöd aus der Wäsche geschaut. Das automatische Update auf WordPress 3.1.3 ist hängen geblieben und dann war sowohl auf dem Blog, als auch auf dem Dashboard nur noch die Meldung

Glücklicherweise ist das recht einfach zu fixen. Einfach im Webroot des Blogs die Datei .maintenance löschen und das Problem ist gelöst. Im Anschluss lief dann auch der zweite Versuch gewohnt sauber durch…
Aber vielleicht ist das auch einfach ein Zeichen Gottes und sie will, dass ich auf Jekyll migriere?

In dieser kleinen Ecke des Netzes waren seit einiger Zeit die Fußnoten defekt. Anstelle der Umlaute und einiger anderer Zeichen wurden in der Mouse-Over Anzeige nur die HTML-Entities angezeigt. Die Fußnoten an sich waren ok.
Das Problem ist nun dank der aktuellen Trunk-Version des Plugins behoben, und wird somit auch im nächsten Release gefixt. Wer so lange nicht warten kann, lade sich einfach hier die Development Version herunter und installiere sie anstelle der Version 4.2.
Works like a charm.

Mir ist aufgefallen, dass ich ziemlich häufig auf instant-thinking selbst, verschiedene Wikipedia-Artikel oder auf Flickr-Bilder verlinke.
In Doku-Wikis werden interne und externe Links mit unterschiedlichen Icons markiert und da dachte ich mir, dass es eine gute Idee wäre so etwas auch für dieses Blog einzuführen. Auf diese Art und Weise können Leser die bestimmte Begriffe schon kennen, es sich sparen den Link anzuklicken. Sie erhalten die Information “Das ist ein Wikipedia-Artikel”, durch ein kleines “W” direkt neben dem Link, ohne extra über den Link hovern zu müssen. Durch die gleiche Technik, etwa ein Flickr-F, sind auch andere Arten von Links sofort zu erkennen und machen das Lesen der Posts leichter.
Bei der Gelegenheit fiel mir auch auf, dass instant-thinking noch gar kein Favicon besitzt, welches man schön als Indikator für interne Links verwenden könnte. Also musste das auch noch rasch hergestellt werden.
Also ist folgende, durchaus übersichtliche, ToDo zu bearbeiten:
- Favicon entwerfen und einbinden
- Link-Icons implementieren

So geht das hier ja nun nicht weiter. Die FOM ist abgeschlossen, die Hochzeit ist gelaufen. Eigentlich sollte ich doch nun deutlich mehr Zeit haben, hier den ein oder anderen Artikel fertig zu stellen.
In der Queue stehen Entwürfe, ich habe hier Tabs offen die zum Teil schon mehrere Jahre und ein OS-Update überlebt haben und ich erlebe ja tatsächlich auch hin und wieder bloggenswerte Sachen die eben nicht in 140 Zeichen passen. Hier wird mal besser bald ein ganz anderer Wind wehen. Zwei Posts pro Woche sollten doch machbar sein, oder?
I mean, if I don’t get up and start to blog anytime now, I could as well just give up, buy this friggin’ cool iPad thingie and consume the hell out of the web instead of contributing to it.
