1. So mancher nennt es ja bereits iPhone-Berechtigungsschein…

Mit diesem Programm kann man einige simple Aktionen deutlich schneller durchführen, als mit iPhoto oder Aperture. Oder auch eine Kamera über das Netzwerk mit einem anderen Mac verbinden.

Dazu muss man einfach die Netzwerkfreigabe in Digitale Bilder einschalten. Schon können alle Macs im lokalen Netz auf die Kamera zugreifen. Dort erscheint die freigegebene Kamera dann sinnigerweise unter Freigaben.

Das Vorgehen ist hier besonders sinnvoll, da die iPhones immer am Mac mini über ein Dock gesynct werden, die Fotos aber auf dem MacBook Pro bearbeitet werden. Auf diese Art und Weise ist schon wieder ein Kabel weniger nötig um die ganzen digitalen Schätze von hier nach dort zu bringen.

Neben dieser praktischen Eigenschaft lassen sich mit Digitale Bilder auch schnell und simpel Fotos als Mails versenden oder schicke Kontaktabzüge ausdrucken. Noch ein paar mehr Hinweise gibt es bei der Macworld unten im via.

Wie sinnvoll das alles noch für iOS basierte Geräte sein wird, wenn iCloud Einzug in das Apple Ökosystem hält und den Fotostream mitbringt ist bisher noch nicht wirklich klar, aber alle Features werden sicher nicht so schnell in der Wolke auftauchen…

Daher ist es gut, ein solches Werkzeug für die Bildbearbeitung im Lieferumfang des Betriebssystems finden zu können. Die Windows Bild- und Faxanzeige² schaut daneben auf jeden Fall eher dünne aus.

Die Jungs und Mädels von Bullstorm haben das Katz und Maus Spiel mit Apples undokumentierten iPhoto Schnittstellen aufgegeben und stellen ihren großartigen Keyword-Manager ein.

Mit diesem Stück Software habe ich seit Oktober 2007 meine Tags in iPhoto vergeben. Dank Autocompletion und fest im Muscle-Memory verankerten Hotkeys, war ich damit immer sehr schnell unterwegs. Dagegen kann ich es irgendwie nicht sehen, dass ich mit den Bordmitteln von iPhoto auf annähernd die gleiche Geschwindigkeit kommen werde…

Was also tun? Ich denke ich werde die Gelegenheit ergreifen und eine weitere Migration auf meine ToDo-Liste setzen. Aperture ist ja vor einiger Zeit deutlich im Preis reduziert worden. Wenn ich diesen Post hier gleich veröffentlicht habe, werde ich wohl dem MacAppStore einen Besuch abstatten und dann mal schauen, wie ich die Bilder aus iPhoto am besten in Aperture bekomme.

Und dann kann auch das Thema RAW-Fotografie mal etwas genauer beguckt werden…

Dieses neue¹ MacBook Pro, und hier insbesondere der verbaute Intel Core i7 mit vier Kernen à 2 GHz, die dank HyperThreading auch noch jeweils einen virtuellen Kern für das Betriebssystem darstellen, geht beim DVD in H.264 encoden mit Handbrake aber mal echt ordentlich zu Werke…

Allerdings vernimmt das Ohr nach einigen Minuten mit dieser Load auch ein deutliches Lüfterrauschen. Normalerweise ist das MacBook Pro flüsterleise, aber das Encoding bringt dann doch einige Watt mehr an Wärmeleistung ins Gehäuse die abtransportiert werden wollen.

Top Gerät. Der versprochene Post zur Ersteinrichtung wird derzeit einem internen Lion-Update unterzogen, kommt aber sicher eines Tages ans Tageslicht…

Ich habe sein Script dann noch ein ganz klein wenig angepasst¹ und das funktionierte genau so problemlos wie der iTunes-Stream. Im Prinzip ist es auch genau das selbe Prinzip, nur der Port ist ein anderer. Wer sich für die genaue Erläuterung der einzelnen Zeilen interessiert, werfe einfach einen Blick in meinen oben bereits erwähnten iTunes-Post, das ist hier alles genau das gleiche…

Hier das Script, das auf dem MacBook auszuführen ist und eine Verbindung nach Hause herstellt:

Natürlich muss das Script noch für die eigenen Gegebenheiten modifiziert werden und wer mag kann anstelle des “Home iPhoto” natürlich auch was anderes eingeben.

Wenn man das Script dann laufen lässt steht nach der Eingabe des SSH-Passworts die heimische iPhoto-Bibliothek so zur Verfügung, als hinge man im Netz zuhause. Und das kann ja aus den verschiedensten Gegebenheiten sinnvoll sein.

Ein Hinweis am Schluss:

Bei mir war die heimische Bibliothek am Anfang zwar in grauer Farbe unter Freigaben sichtbar, ein Klick darauf brachte aber im Terminal den Fehler: channel 2: open failed: connect failed: Connection refused. Daher sollte man auf jeden Fall checken, ob die heimische Bibliothek denn auch freigegeben ist… Dann klappts auch mit der Freigabe durch den Tunnel und die Bibliothek erstrahlt in freundlichem Grün.
